Geophysical

This non-destructive investigative technology is useful in exploring the subsurface with limited risk. Mapping variations in a site’s electromagnetic characteristics can be used to locate and document what is out of sight and underground. In particular, multi-method analysis of the site is useful for tackling challenges of unique or non-standard investigations. By combining traditional LiDAR and orthophotography with geophysical tools like ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and/or electromagnetic (EM) field characterization, Elevate can produce 3D models of both surface and subsurface environments. We use multi-method data collection, powerful computing software and machine learning algorithms to analyze data and achieve a precise understanding of the geophysical aspects of a site. This method will increase confidence when determining the location of underground features and targeting specific areas for tactical destructive investigations for a more holistic assessment of a site.

Applications of Geophysical Imaging include:

  • Location and identification of unexploded ordnance
  • Identifying underground objects and structures, such as culverts, piers for foundations
  • Locating subsurface voids or other heterogeneous features and discontinuities
  • Archeological or historic site investigations (Learn more here)
